Sometimes when viewing a model, then making it transparent, is just not enough. You may want to zoom in to an area quickly. You can now use the Magnify Glass to quickly zoom into an area. This too may not be enough, and you may decide you need to section through the area as well as magnify within it. Here is how you can section a part or assembly while within the Magnify Glass.
Procedure
1. Identify the area you need magnified.
2. Hover your curser, or mouse over the desired area to be magnified.
3. Hit the "g" key (lower case).
4. Press Alt and scroll the mouse wheel to display a section view parallel to the screen.
Notes:
1. Pressing down the Control Key and the middle mouse button (wheel) you can pan the Magnify Glass.
2. Scrolling within the Magnify glass is also possible.
3. Moving the curser towards the edge of the magnify glass will move the glass in that direction.
4. Holding down the Shift key and the middle mouse button (wheel) will access zoom in /out within the magnify glass area.
5. The Magnify Glass also works within a 2D orthographic drawing (section view will not work within a drawing file).
6. You can re-program the hot key and change it from "g" to any other key not assigned to a command.
