A: Yes, SolidWorks has a Pre-Release version available for download subscription support.
Q: When will the first released version of the SolidWorks Vista be available?
A: Update - The release version of SolidWorks Vista will be available when SolidWorks 2008 is released in the summer. The Pre-Release version is available now. Pre-Release 2 will be around the SP4 release of 2007.
Q: Will there be a release version of the SolidWorks 2007 for Vista?
A: Currently there are only plans to have Pre-Release versions of SolidWorks 2007 for Vista.
Q: Will the XP version of SolidWorks run Microsoft Windows Vista?
A: No, only the SolidWorks Vista Version can run on Windows Vista.
Q: What versions of Vista does SolidWorks Vista Version support?
A: SolidWorks Vista Version only supports Business and Ultimate Editions of Vista. Home, or Home Premium as well as any x64 version are not officially supported.
Q: Does Windows Vista require new hardware in order to run?
A: Not necessarily. Microsoft is recommending 1G of Ram and a modern CPU. Refer to your
hardware manufacturer; many of them have already certified their latest models for Vista.
